I can’t believe it’s summer already! We can officially start wearing white jeans again! Around this time last year, I was getting ready to go on the trip of a lifetime to the Arctic. While I may not be packing my bags for a grand adventure this year, I am still planning to make time for some stress-free summer fun right here in Los Angeles.
It’s that time of year once again. Earlier this month, I participated in NAPO 2024 Summit, the annual conference that provides professional organizers with continued education and networking opportunities. I think it was just what I needed to remind myself about the importance of embracing change and organizing for business growth, even during this incredibly busy time in my career.
Does anyone else feel like even though the days are getting longer, time is slipping away faster than ever? From email to tax prep to spring home updates to self-care, it seems like there is never enough time in the day to get everything done.
More and more, unpredictable weather and weather-related emergencies are becoming a very real risk for all of us. California’s dry season brings a looming threat of wildfires every year, and lately, we have been experiencing atmospheric rivers in Los Angeles. I am grateful to live in a place where flooding is not an issue, but my heart goes out to many of my friends and clients who have had to deal with flooding, mudslides, and other aftereffects of the recent rains.
At the start of a new year, it might seem like everyone is radiating hope and positivity. I have lost count of how many times I’ve heard someone say, “2024 is going to be so much better than 2023,” in the last few weeks.
In the blink of an eye, another year has almost come and gone! As we take on the last few weeks of 2023, December feels like the perfect time for reflection. It’s both the end of a chapter and the start of something new (especially for me, since I will be marking another trip around the sun on December 22).
Los Angeles is huge, often unpredictable, and at times, chaotic. It’s the kind of city where you learn to adapt quickly and moving into (or within) this city can feel overwhelming.
To thrive in Los Angeles, it helps to have a plan.
As a working professional your livelihood likely depends on your ability to produce high quality work within a reasonable timeframe. Therefore, maintaining a high level of productivity is essential to both your professional and personal success.
Sitting in an ugly, cramped office or a room at home is just about the easiest way to send yourself running to your favorite websites hoping to make the workday pass faster.
Getting things done brings such a great feeling of accomplishment, but it can also be overwhelming if the task seems insurmountable. Sometimes, the days just don’t seem long enough to do everything we want to do. When that happens, worry can set in, but it doesn’t have to!
First off, let me apologize for my missing blogs. It’s been a very hectic couple of months and as I’ve stated before, writing doesn’t come easy for me. So, like many, I skip it when faced with other more pressing matters.
